Mohamed Nassereldine, President of the Lebanese-Russian Cooperation Office “Roslivan,” welcomed the decision by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to resume imports of Lebanese products, particularly agricultural goods.
In a statement, Nassereldine described the decision as a significant step reflecting the depth of the historic and fraternal relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
He said the initiative also demonstrates the Saudi leadership’s commitment, under the direction of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to supporting Lebanon and strengthening its economic and social stability during a sensitive period.
Nassereldine considered the decision an important turning point in restoring Lebanese products to Arab markets. He added that it reflects renewed confidence in Lebanon’s ability to comply with required standards related to quality control, border management, inspection, and combating smuggling.
He emphasized that the decision could help restore the role of Lebanon’s agricultural and productive sectors and provide them with a genuine opportunity for recovery.
According to Nassereldine, the measure will positively affect thousands of farmers, exporters, and workers in the agricultural sector. It is also expected to stimulate economic activity and open new markets for Lebanese products, which have traditionally represented an important strength of the national economy.
He stressed that the development should not be viewed solely as a commercial decision, but also as a clear political and economic message.
He explained that when Lebanon strengthens its institutions, restores the authority of the state, and fulfills its obligations, it can regain its natural position within the Arab region and recover opportunities for growth, openness, and stability.
Nassereldine also praised the official, security, and economic efforts that contributed to reaching this positive outcome and helped rebuild confidence in Lebanon as a state capable of meeting its commitments.
He concluded by expressing hope that the decision would mark the beginning of a new phase of constructive economic and commercial cooperation between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, serving the shared interests of both peoples and supporting stability and prosperity in the region.
