Mohamed Nassereldine, President of the Center for International Economic Cooperation with the Countries of the Middle East and North Africa, CIEC-MENA, and President of the Lebanese-Russian Cooperation Office “Roslivan,” participated in the First International Security Forum held in Moscow.
The forum was organized under the patronage of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and brought together more than 140 foreign delegations representing over 120 countries.
The event was held from May 26 to 29 at Live Arena and Patriot Park, with the participation of senior political, security, diplomatic, and economic figures, along with international experts and representatives of institutions from around the world.
The forum served as an international platform for discussing current security challenges, geopolitical transformations, and opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation among participating countries.
During the forum, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu announced the signing of contracts and agreements valued at more than $1 billion. This reflected the scale of international participation and the growing confidence in security and economic partnerships with Russia.
During his meetings with participating delegations, Nassereldine emphasized the importance of Russia’s role in the Middle East. He described Moscow as a significant and neutral mediator capable of helping reduce tensions and opening channels of dialogue between conflicting parties.
He also stressed the need to include Lebanon in any regional negotiations or agreements, particularly those aimed at consolidating a ceasefire, ending attacks on Lebanese territory, and preserving regional security and stability.
Nassereldine highlighted the importance of Arab-Russian relations in economic, educational, cultural, scientific, and academic fields. He noted that Lebanon benefits from Russian expertise in several sectors and called for stronger bilateral cooperation and the development of future partnerships.
He added that CIEC-MENA and Roslivan are among the organizations contributing to the development of Russian-Arab relations and actively participating in international cooperation initiatives.
Nassereldine also called for strengthening Lebanese-Russian relations during an interview with Voice of All Lebanon 93.3 radio, which was scheduled to be broadcast later.
