The Lebanese-Russian Cooperation Office “Roslivan” participated in the Russia–Islamic World International Economic Forum held in Kazan, Russia, an international platform for dialogue and cooperation across economic, scientific, technological, social, and cultural fields.
In his address, Roslivan President Mohamed Nassereldine emphasized the importance of giving special attention to young people, describing them as both the present and the future.
He congratulated the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, on hosting the Kazan Economic Forum, noting its role in strengthening commercial, economic, scientific, technological, social, and cultural relations between Russia and the countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
Nassereldine highlighted Russia’s long-standing openness toward Islamic countries and described the forum as evidence of the continuing development of these relations. He also noted the significant increase in the number of participants compared with previous editions.
Addressing the forum’s theme of digital transformation, which included artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things, Nassereldine shifted the focus toward the primary users and influencers of these technologies: young people.
He stated that youth have always been the foundation of development, drivers of change, and a source of creativity and innovation.
He acknowledged that globalization has supported openness, knowledge, intellectual exchange, and communication, while warning that it can also be misused to fragment societies, distort facts, and negatively influence younger generations.
Nassereldine called for cooperation to promote what he described as ethical and humanitarian globalization based on shared human values, away from racism, division, and exclusion.
He explained that Roslivan has worked to bring Lebanese and Arab youth closer to Russian youth and young people from other countries by supporting inclusive ideas and intercultural communication.
He encouraged young people to use digital transformation as a tool for creativity, excellence, and cooperation beyond geographical borders, political conflicts, and wars.
Nassereldine also proposed organizing annual youth activities in different countries as a complement to the World Youth Festival held in Russia. He said these traveling initiatives would allow young people from around the world to meet directly, broaden their knowledge, and establish stronger personal and cultural connections.
He concluded by thanking Russia, its leadership and people, the organizers, hosts, and international participants, while expressing hope for broader participation and a wider range of topics in future editions of the forum.
