Roslivan and the Minister of Health Discuss Healthcare Cooperation Between Lebanon and Russia

Roslivan President Mohamed Nassereldine met with Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nassereddine to discuss cooperation between Lebanon and Russia in healthcare, medicines, medical services, and public health initiatives.

Mohamed Nassereldine, President of the Lebanese-Russian Cooperation Office “Roslivan,” visited Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nassereddine at his office in the Ministry. 

He was accompanied by Mireille Malaki, Director of Legal and Administrative Affairs at Roslivan, and journalist George Shaheen, Editor-in-Chief of East News. 

The meeting addressed current developments in Lebanon and focused on opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Lebanon and Russia in the healthcare sector. The discussions covered potential collaboration involving both public and private institutions in ways that could benefit the two countries. 

Minister Nassereddine explained the measures being undertaken by the Ministry and its administrative departments to improve healthcare services and ensure their delivery under better conditions. He emphasized coordination among ministries, public institutions, medical bodies, and relevant private-sector organizations. 

The Minister also discussed measures related to ensuring the quality of medicines, monitoring prices, and combating smuggling and counterfeit pharmaceutical products. He noted that these initiatives had helped achieve savings within the Ministry’s budget allocated to pharmaceutical and medical services. 

He added that the Ministry was working with public and private institutions and professional organizations to regulate the pharmaceutical and medical supplies markets through a series of measures expected to produce tangible results. 

The meeting also covered health, social, and humanitarian awareness campaigns, particularly in light of the difficult conditions experienced by Lebanese citizens, the effects of conflict, and the financial and monetary crisis that has negatively affected the country’s healthcare system. 

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mohamed Nassereldine congratulated the Minister and praised the measures taken to improve health and social conditions. He also highlighted the healthcare needs of the Baalbek-Hermel region and the importance of increasing access to medical services for its residents.

The participants also discussed a proposal to organize the Lebanese-Russian Economic and Investment Forum, “Beirut 2.” The forum would seek to strengthen communication between economic and investment stakeholders in both countries, explore opportunities to develop commercial and investment relations, and open new prospects for the private sector. The discussions also highlighted the importance of activating international economic cooperation to support the Lebanese economy and strengthen its presence in foreign markets. Communications and preparations related to the forum are expected to continue during the coming period.
